For Lithuania and the Baltic region, this collaboration is unprecedented. While the Lithuania is gaining visibility in fintech and deep tech, high-profile sports tech partnerships are still very rare.
Marcelo’s decision to join FPRO signals both confidence in the product and belief in the region’s growing role in shaping the future of sports innovation.
“Meeting Marcelo in person and seeing a true football role model instantly connect with what we’re building was surreal, not only believing in our idea, but choosing to represent it and work alongside us.” shares Vilius Petkevičius, co-founder of FPRO.
FPRO’s story began in 2018, when co-founders Ernestas Pilypas, Darius Jankauskas, and Vilius Petkevičius, all former footballers, launched the Football Pro Academy in Vilnius. When the pandemic disrupted in-person sessions, they pivoted to digital, which led to the launch of the FPRO Ball Mastery system in 2022.
Since then, the product has taken off. Today, more than 140,000 children across the UK, Germany, the United States, and beyond train with FPRO.
With Marcelo on board, FPRO aims to amplify its message: that talent is universal, but opportunity should be too. For parents and young players, the collaboration is designed to prove that greatness does not belong only to those in elite academies or privileged environments.
As Marcelo himself puts it:
“Train with passion, believe in yourself, and have fun every step of the way.”
